We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Audit Director to join our team at the Tennessee Board of Regents. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting internal financial, operational, and compliance audits to ensure the adequacy of our systems of internal control for continuous improvement, risk management, and fraud awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct internal audits to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of financial, administrative, and academic areas
Analyze systems, processes, procedures, and transactions for efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness of internal controls
Prepare working papers and reports to document work performed and conclusions
Collaborate with executive-level officers on matters such as policies and procedures
Develop and implement a comprehensive audit plan to ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the College and Tennessee Board of Regents, and state and federal laws and regulations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field
Active CPA or CIA certification
At least five years of professional auditing experience
Strong computer skills, including ERP systems and word processing software
Ability to communicate effectively with College and TBR officials, fellow employees, and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in accounting or related business field
Experience working in higher education and auditing large computerized accounting and information systems
Documented professional supervisory experience
