About the Role

The Savannah Music Festival is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Institutional Giving Associate to join our development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the submission of grant proposals, researching and facilitating inquiries to prospective funders, and maintaining and stewarding external relationships with institutional funders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the submission of grant proposals to government, corporate, and private foundations
  • Work closely with key staff members to collect supporting information and documents for applications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant funders through phone and email correspondences, letters of inquiry, and in-person meetings
  • Manage a grants calendar to ensure timely and accurate submissions, reporting, and post-award stewardship
  • Conduct prospect research for foundation, government, and corporate giving, and assist with outreach to viable funding sources
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional funders
  • Draft text for organizational letters, correspondences, invitations, and special thank you notes
  • Ensure accurate recognition and acknowledgement of institutional funders
  • Utilize CRM software to track correspondence, contact information, and proposal outcomes for foundation and government accounts
  • Maintain organized and accurate files related to funders
  • Assist with donor stewardship communications via phone, email, and letters
  • Support the development team with large-scale mailings, including renewal notices, direct mail appeals, and other correspondence
  • Serve as a point of contact for donors at festival concerts and special events
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum two years of experience researching and coordinating grant proposal submissions with a proven track record of securing grants
  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
  • Deep curiosity about music and the arts
  • Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Zoom
  • Detail-oriented in internal and external communications
  • Ability to work respectfully with others and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility, patience, and grace under pressure
  • Collaborative working style with a hands-on approach to teamwork
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 30 pounds
What We Offer

The Savannah Music Festival offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision care, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a simple IRA plan, and parking.
