Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a fleet of over the road/regional truck drivers, ensuring compliance with federal hours of service regulations, safety, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, providing information, instructions, and support to address any issues or concerns.
  • Monitor and track driver and vehicle locations, status, and condition, using computer programs and software applications.
  • Schedule and assign drivers to routes and loads, based on their availability, qualifications, and preferences.
  • Provide coaching and discipline to drivers to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the fleet.
  • Mentor new drivers to ensure they are qualified, competent, and prepared to work safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports of driver activities, incidents, and violations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using routing and dispatch software systems, as well as Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work with drivers of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
  • Strong leadership, highly motivated, organized, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
