Job Summary

  • Under moderate supervision, applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Monitors and maintains control of various general ledger accounts, prepares journal entries and detailed reports, prepares financial statements and analyses reflecting financial status and activities.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests and analyses of accounts in this area.
  • Ensures compliance with various internal controls, policies and procedures by effectively communicating and interacting with hospital departments, affiliates, and other organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply accounting principles and systems to maintain general ledgers and journals and prepare related statements and reports.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate and interact with hospital departments, affiliates, and other organizations to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent Advanced Accounting courses completed in a Business Degree.
  • C.P.A. preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience with mainframe and personal computers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and IBM PCs preferred.
