Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Educational Program Assistant to provide administrative support to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) Dean's Office. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, and a highly desirable work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with event planning, advertising, and management of invited speakers and guests for various College events, including Commencement.
  • Provide support for the annual scholarship and fellowship award cycle, including processing student awards.
  • Organize and distribute mail, deliveries, and returns for the departments.
  • Assist with event calendars and website updates.
  • Manage College and departmental listservs.
  • Assist with management of departmental space, including room reservations, work order entry, and maintenance of physical and digital displays.
  • Manage inventory, asset tracking, and surplus.
  • Provide general office support, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, greeting and directing visitors, directing calls, and related tasks.
  • Process travel reimbursements and other related fiscal and administrative documents.
  • Provide administrative coverage to College units during staff absences.
  • Collect and organize fiscal and operational data for annual departmental reporting.
  • Assist with the course scheduling process and liaise with other departments regarding cross-listed courses and offerings and master schedule.
  • Coordinate and track payroll processes, draft offer letters, and ensure completion and submission of onboarding paperwork.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Up to one year of related experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to manage time in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Ability to adaptively work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to engage, connect, and work with diverse student, administrative, and faculty populations and provide a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in an educational setting.
Appointment Terms

This is a full-time, permanent position. The University offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn, and a highly desirable work environment.

Salary will be commensurate with successful candidates' background and experience.

Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
