This role is a key member of our medical office team, providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for physician examinations and maintain accurate records
- Assist with office surgical procedures and perform EKG and Spirometry as ordered
- Report lab results to patients and schedule follow-up appointments as needed
- Answer requests from pharmacies for prescription refills and prepare specimens for testing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to HIPAA requirements
- Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations and may be required to float to other offices
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant program or certification/registration preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical facility preferred
- Ability to lift, care, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight and maintain a safe work environment
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills and ability to maintain working relationships with patients and employees
