SUMMARY
The individual will oversee all tasks related to the safe operation of production equipment, including setup, operation, and cleanup, while suggesting enhancements to processes to fulfill customer requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritize safety at all times, remain vigilant of surroundings, and adhere to Pratt Industries' safety protocols and operational procedures. Engage in the Plant Safety Committee.
- Consistently follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Understand and implement Pratt Industries' quality standards and policies. Ensure that defective products do not reach customers by identifying issues early in the manufacturing process. Maintain a keen eye for detail to prevent poor quality output.
- Perform a variety of tasks within the designated department, potentially rotating through different areas of the facility throughout the week to work on diverse projects and customer orders.
- Carry out general duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, ensuring they are free from hazards during and after shifts. This includes keeping communal areas such as break rooms and restrooms tidy.
- Gain insights from Machine Operators regarding machine capabilities and efficiencies, assisting in minimizing waste and downtime without compromising quality.
- Learn operational tasks from Machine Operators and Production Supervisors, including machine downtimes, setup durations, and quality control measures.
- Participate in cross-training on various machines and roles within the plant.
- Assist in the timely and accurate completion of necessary reports, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
- Collaborate with colleagues to switch roles as needed, fostering a learning environment to acquire various job skills for both personal and professional development.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness.
- Follow the production schedule diligently.
- Be prepared to work overtime as required, including potential short-notice shifts. The company operates continuously to serve customer needs, including during holidays when necessary.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.

High school diploma or GED required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and follow instructions, including quality and safety protocols.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Competence in reading a tape measure accurately and calculating figures such as percentages and measurements. Ability to apply high school level math concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or graphic form. Capable of addressing problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
May need to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate effectively. Frequently required to use hands for handling and reaching. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
