Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program to support students' academic, personal, and social growth.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing issues such as academic achievement, career development, and personal relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Assess student needs and develop strategies to address academic and personal challenges.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
- Rank II state certification with certification in Guidance and Counseling.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The Guidance Counselor will have frequent contact with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
Physical RequirementsThe Guidance Counselor will be required to work in a fast-paced school environment, with frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
Terms of EmploymentThe Guidance Counselor will be employed by Broward County Public Schools, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
