Job Title: Dialysis Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dialysis Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care, administer dialysis treatments, and educate patients and families on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering dialysis treatments, monitoring treatment parameters, and documenting patient information.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including teaching patients and families about dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, including communicating with physicians, dietitians, and social workers.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service classes, and other educational opportunities to stay current on dialysis principles and techniques.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, including CPR and responding to equipment malfunctions.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN, LVN)
  • Current appropriate State licensure
  • One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required
  • ICU experience preferred but not required
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
  • Successfully complete CPR Certification
  • Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required
