Job Summary

The Transportation Specialist II will operate automatic day cab tractors and trailers over the road, making deliveries to correctional institutions in the region while maintaining a high level of customer service and adhering to federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loads trailer(s) via pallet jacks as necessary and secures pallets to prevent damage in transit.
  • Delivers merchandise on customers' premises via pallet jack, liftgate, dolly, and/or by hand as necessary and obtains receipt for goods.
  • Delivers inventory/supply transfers to company facilities based on operational needs and verifies load against shipping papers prior to loading and after delivery.
  • Runs consistent routes each week (will be fixed unless operational needs require a change).
  • Drives tractor/trailer to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.
  • Maintains truck log according to Aramark regulations.
  • Performs thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by Aramark regulations.
Requirements
  • Must be age 21 years or older.
  • 2 year + professional driving experience and vehicle mechanical experience is preferred as well as customer service experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Must have a valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving.
  • Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool.
  • Must complete and pass Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle.
