Job Summary and Qualifications
The Neuro ICU Nurse, as a Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Identifies nursing challenges tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
- Plans individualized patient care through an interdisciplinary approach.
- Engages in performance improvement initiatives.
- Coordinates care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the role of charge nurse, Registered Nurses oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care in a therapeutic setting.
- Assign staff based on patient needs, acuity, and staff skill levels.
- Serve as role models and clinical resources for colleagues.
- Respond promptly to requests for information or follow-up on physician, staff, or patient matters.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor, document, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions while maintaining precise and detailed records.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment range, and care for patients of various ages.
- Promote hospital customer service initiatives.
- Utilize nursing processes for individualized patient care.
- Exhibit proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing school.
- Current Licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- CCRN or CNRN certification preferred.
- One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
