Position Summary

The Material Handler collaborates with the Supervisor to manage daily activities on the production floor, ensuring a clean and organized workspace. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. The role involves interpreting work instructions or following verbal guidance to determine the materials or containers that require movement. The Material Handler operates an industrial forklift equipped with lifting devices to efficiently push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or transport products and materials, executing the following tasks:

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inventory materials on the production floor, supplying work cells with necessary items.
  • Load and unload materials as required.
  • Deliver appropriate containers to the designated work area without interrupting production flow.
  • Organize finished goods in their respective locations.
  • Communicate any equipment malfunctions to the active supervisor or manager.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Meet productivity goals while working at a fast pace.
  • Foster teamwork by cooperating with colleagues and following instructions.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in the automotive industry.
  • Basic skills in math, reading, and comprehension.
  • Ability to complete Forklift Training and obtain a license (training provided).
  • Competence in safely operating a Forklift and other machinery related to the Materials Department.
  • Capability to operate an overhead crane.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Proficient in driving, standing, reaching, twisting, bending, and walking.
  • Experience operating Forklift and related machinery in a manufacturing or plant environment.
