About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic 2 to join our team at Coca-Cola Bottling Company United. As a key member of our fleet operations, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our company fleet equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment, including class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components.
  • Emergency Roadside Services: Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory.
  • Documentation: Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system.
  • Team Support: Assist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices.
Requirements
  • Age: Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • CDL: Class A CDL preferred.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies.
  • Attendance: Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Communication: Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Appearance: Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines.
  • Safety: Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
  • Technology: Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy.
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs.
  • Work Environment: Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noise.
