Position Overview

We are looking for a Process Engineering Specialist to join our team at Technical Associates. This role involves providing hands-on engineering support for project design, implementation, and operational start-up. The position requires travel to various client locations for collaboration, inspections, and project initiation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize engineering methodologies to assess and enhance existing and new processes while collaborating with clients, suppliers, and other engineering professionals. Projects will encompass process engineering and facility design.
  • Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute capital projects. Engage directly on the production floor with technicians and operators to collect data and serve as a resource for operational insights.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and perform engineering calculations to facilitate production and enhancement initiatives. Manage complex projects from inception to completion, along with multiple smaller concurrent projects. Assist in defining project scope and timelines, while monitoring project expenditures. Prepare proposals and budgets in close partnership with clients.
  • Design, strategize, and implement innovative and cost-efficient processes and machinery for both new and existing products. Ensure timely delivery of projects while adhering to accuracy and stringent safety standards.
Process Engineering Duties:

Engage in process design activities. Calculate flow rates, pipeline dimensions, and pump specifications. Identify necessary equipment and instrumentation. Create conceptual flow diagrams and detailed P&ID schematics of production processes utilizing AutoCAD.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience within an industrial setting.
  • Experience in selecting processing equipment such as pumps, mixers, and valves.
  • A strong desire to explore new equipment, processes, and technologies.
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, self-driven, and capable of working independently.
  • Support production launches to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and a strong ethical foundation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and Project management software.
Preferred Experience:

Experience in a consulting capacity.

Background in Pharmaceutical, Pulp and Paper, or Chemical Engineering.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to ascend ladders and stairs.
  • Capability to navigate a caged personnel ladder.
  • Proficient in taking measurements and conducting site assessments.
  • Must be able to walk significant distances, including from parking areas to job sites, and traverse a large manufacturing facility throughout the day for meetings and other responsibilities.
