We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse Resident to join our team at Texas Oncology. As a RN Resident, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.
- Recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participate in company-wide quality initiatives.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and other materials potentially infected with a blood-borne pathogen.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, including scheduling consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
- Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams and act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
- Completed graduation from an accredited program for professional nursing education within three years prior to the start of the residency program.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac and Life Support) certification.
- RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.
