Position Overview

DelDOT is seeking a qualified Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to join our Civil Division, specifically within the Environmental Unit. This role involves offering legal counsel on a wide array of environmental matters to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). The Environmental Unit addresses critical issues across multiple divisions, including Waste Management, Wildlife Conservation, Parks and Recreation, and Climate Change Initiatives.

Responsibilities

The selected DAG will be responsible for:
  • Providing legal advice and representation to DNREC on environmental regulations and compliance.
  • Engaging in enforcement actions related to environmental statutes and permit infractions through both administrative and judicial processes.
  • Defending DNREC in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
  • Reviewing and advising on legal documents, permits, contracts, and legislative proposals.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
