Job Summary

Britten, a veteran-owned creative production house, seeks a skilled Fabricator (Wood & Foam) 2nd Shift to join our team. As a key member of our production studio, you will be responsible for fabricating world-class projects for retail environments, events, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various woodworking and foam sculpting machinery and tools to fabricate cabinetry, millwork, and foam sculptures.
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture.
  • Glue, fit, and clamp parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete units using clamps or clamping machines.
  • Sand and scrape surfaces and joints of articles to prepare for finishing.
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, and/or written directions.
  • Measure parts to ensure accuracy and fit.
  • Assemble and prep units for finishing with precision and attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Interest and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed.
Requirements
  • Assembly work, woodworking, carpentry, sculpting, and/or finish experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding work ethic and dependability.
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, repair, and maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of how to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and written directions.
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Repetitive motion, substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Visual acuity to perform activities such as operating machines, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks, and determining the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Subject to noise, sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Atmospheric conditions, one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
