We are looking for a motivated and skilled professional to join our team at FKC - Fairbanks in a vital role within our healthcare facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct and supervise repair and upkeep tasks on water treatment systems, dialysis machines, auxiliary devices, testing instruments, and the overall facility as per manufacturer guidelines and in alignment with industry standards and regulatory mandates.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with established protocols.
- Engage with high voltage machinery as part of the role.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of necessary service components.
- Ensure timely return of defective components along with associated documentation.
- Actively contribute to the Quality Assessment and Process Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Collaborate with facility personnel to ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Collect and process water/dialysate samples following relevant procedures.
- Analyze and report on water/dialysate quality results in line with established guidelines.
- Transport equipment and supplies as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

**Education and Skill Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- An Associate's Degree in electronics or biomedical technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of the Biomedical Technician Technical Certification Program within the first two years of employment is required.
- Preferred certifications include:
- Water Quality Association (WQA) Water Treatment Specialist (WTS)
- Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET)
- All certifications must be kept current.
- Participation in all required technical training programs as mandated by regulations and company policy.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to distinguish primary colors, as demonstrated by passing the Ishihara Color Vision Test.
- Proficiency in English communication is essential.
**Physical Job Requirements:**
- Frequent periods of standing, bending, walking, and sitting are expected.
- Use of equipment for moving heavy items is required.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 5 feet.
- Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
- Travel to other facilities may be necessary, including potential overnight stays.
- Exposure to chemicals and infectious materials may occur; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be supplied by the employer.
