About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, requiring 40 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a member of the surgical team, providing support during procedures
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field to ensure a safe and efficient operating environment
  • Participate in maintaining the readiness of the Operating Room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
  • Maintain a professional work environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate accountability for own self-development, staying up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fine motor skills, with the ability to wear a surgical mask and gloves
  • Auditory skills, allowing for clear communication with colleagues and patients
  • CPR certification, with the ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, with the use of patient handling equipment when necessary
