Job Summary

The Senior Trust Officer is responsible for administering personal trust, custody, and estate accounts. This role requires a high level of expertise in fiduciary law, tax regulations, and investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer personal trust, custody, and estate accounts in accordance with governing instruments, state and federal law, and fiduciary standards.
  • Provide exceptional client service and ensure quality business growth by managing a portfolio of complex customer relationships.
  • Develop internal marketing plans and collaborate with other departments to improve internal relationships and build strong external customer relationships.
  • Coordinate activities with Tax, Specialty Assets, Investment Management, Wealth Management Services, and external advisors to resolve client and administrative issues.
  • Adhere to all established corporate risk and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor and review performance and behaviors within areas of responsibility to identify and resolve non-compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulatory codes.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal tax and fiduciary law, accounting principles, investment strategies, and Bank of Texas policies and procedures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team.
  • Timely keep management advised of client risk concerns, problems, and complaints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field of study.
  • 6-8 years of directly related experience in Personal Trust or 8-10 years of experience in Personal Trust or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in managing medium- to large-sized client accounts.
  • Knowledge of interpretation and application of trust document provisions, probate law, taxes, investments.
  • Excellent analytical ability, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
