We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Highpoint Health – Sumner. As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Surgery.
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Document patient care given.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Perform patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in other nursing units as necessary.
- Current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.
- ACLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire.
- 6 months of RN Surgery experience - preferred.
