A leading firm is looking for a Project Engineer to support various engineering initiatives. This role involves analyzing and interpreting utility customer drawing packages and specifications, as well as designing and evaluating tubular steel utility structures, including transmission, distribution, and substation frameworks, ensuring compliance with national codes, industry standards, and client specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct preliminary design estimates and verify final designs for production.
  • Utilize advanced 3D modeling software for pole design and proprietary calculation tools for component design.
  • If licensed, oversee projects and customer territories upon achieving competency.
  • Provide technical assistance and collaborate effectively with sales, detailing, project management, and production teams.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a steel products fabrication environment.
  • Degree with a specific focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Master's degree in engineering or business.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in any state or Structural Engineer licensure.
  • Experience in the transmission and distribution systems industry, particularly in utility structures design.
  • Familiarity with steel products design, ideally within a Nucor context.
  • Knowledge of PLS-Pole software.
  • Experience in a client-facing role.
