Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Soliant Education. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to students across the K-12 spectrum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to identify students' needs related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and participation in school activities.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's occupational therapy goals, considering their age, developmental stage, learning style, and specific educational setting.
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to address a range of occupational therapy needs commonly seen in students across K-12, including:
    • Fine motor difficulties (handwriting, grasping, manipulation)
    • Gross motor delays (coordination, balance, strength)
    • Sensory processing challenges
    • Difficulties with self-care skills (dressing, eating, toileting)
    • Assistive technology needs
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting each child's development and participation in all settings.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing therapy plans.
  • Create positive and supportive learning environments that foster independence, participation, and skill development in students across the K-12 spectrum.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in occupational therapy for the diverse needs of the K-12 student population.
Requirements
  • Massachusetts State License in Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Prior experience working with students with developmental delays and disabilities in a school setting, preferably across the K-12 spectrum, is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and program development tailored for students at various developmental stages (elementary, middle, and high school).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all ages, parents, and school staff across diverse grade levels.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development as it relates to occupational therapy needs.
  • Passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential in all educational settings.
  • Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet the needs of students in various classroom environments.
