Medical Support Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled LPN to join our team at Commonwealth Pain & Spine, a leading pain management group in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The successful candidate will work closely with our board-certified physicians to provide exceptional patient care and support effective clinic operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Support: Assist patients with medical history collection, maintain accurate records, and document relevant information.
  2. Triage and Assessment: Perform vital sign checks, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and height, and document patient pain levels.
  3. Communication: Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and communicate effectively within the team.
  4. Medication Management: Coordinate blood thinner medications and post-op pain medication with cardiologists and surgeons, respectively.
  5. Administrative Tasks: Enter patient information and notes into EMR software, prepare evaluation and procedure rooms, and clean rooms post-patient encounters.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience: A current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state and Medical Assistant experience are preferred.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Exceptional customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in EMR software are essential.
