Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee nursing department staff to ensure all patient care activities are conducted in a manner that prioritizes patient safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
- Ensure accurate documentation by staff in medical records, including the necessary medical necessity documentation; monitor the completion and updates of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
- Assist in the evaluation of risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and outcomes to foster continuous improvement; communicate findings to the nursing team.
- Ensure timely completion of patient charting by staff.
- Manage staffing strategies, nursing hours per patient day, and the quality of nursing staff performance.
- May also have direct patient care responsibilities alongside daily tasks.
- Coordinate and direct appropriate rehabilitation care tailored to patient and family educational needs, addressing barriers or continuity of care requirements.
- Act as a clinical rehabilitation resource for patients and families throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Assist with daily coordination and follow-up of patient care and problem-solving.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
- BSN preferred.
- Current unrestricted state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
- CRRN Certification preferred.
- A minimum of two years of prior nursing leadership experience preferred.
- A minimum of two years of previous rehabilitation nursing experience preferred.
