Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Attorney to join our team at David Coffin PLLC. As a Tax Attorney, you will play a critical role in our Federal Tax Controversy Practice, assisting individuals and businesses with complex federal tax issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the representation of clients in IRS audits and appeals, both administratively and within the Tax Court.
- Handle a large docket of cases involving IRS collection of income or payroll taxes, ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to multi-million dollar cases.
- Assist in the defense of federal district court collection, refund, or injunction cases against the Department of Justice, Tax Division.
- Represent taxpayers and tax professionals in criminal matters and other problem-solving matters dealing with the IRS and federal taxes.
Requirements
- Law school graduate with a strong background in federal tax law.
- Pass the bar exam in any state and have experience working with federal tax matters while in government service or private practice.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a large number of matters or cases with proficiency.
- High level of integrity, a heart to serve and to help clients, and the ability to persevere despite adversity and likely obstacles.
- Desire to grow the practice and eventually obtain equity ownership in the firm.
