Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Worker to join our team at Whitsons Culinary Group. As a Food Service Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and serving line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of food and beverages for students and staff.
  • Serve meals to students and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including cleaning of equipment and work areas, dishwashing, and pot washing.
  • Assist with light cooking, filling beverage coolers, and setting up hot and cold food areas.
  • Deliver food to staff, students, and catering events as needed.
  • Prepare and serve food according to menus and recipes.
  • Check and store incoming supplies.
  • Store dishes, containers, cups, pots, and other equipment.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and attend all mandatory in-service programs.
  • Support the goals, objectives, and mission statement of Whitsons Culinary Group.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7am-2pm. Subject to change based on business needs.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include:

  • Frequent sitting, walking, talking, and hearing.
  • Use of hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reaching with hands and arms.
  • Standing on feet for majority of workday, with occasional walking and movement.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting while turning side to side.
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position includes:

  • Primarily working in the kitchen and on the serving line.
  • Standing for majority of workday, with occasional movement in and out of store rooms and freezers.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • Moderate to loud noise level in the work environment.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Foodservice experience required.
  • Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
  • Extensive physical demands, including lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image at all times.
  • Ability to lift between 30-50 pounds.
  • Basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Able to pass background screening.
