Chair of Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician with demonstrated leadership skills in quality improvement and operations to serve as the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine.

The successful candidate will have clinical responsibilities for all emergency services and programs at SH, reporting to the President & COO of SH, the SH Board of Trustees, and the Chief of MGB Enterprise Emergency Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership, direction, and coordination for the Emergency physicians and Advance Practice Providers (APPs), and the entire staff of the ED.
  • Promoting and maintaining the highest level of clinical integrity and excellence in patient care.
  • Assuming a leadership role in Quality, Safety, and Health Equity programs.
  • Working collaboratively with hospital senior leadership and the Chief of MGB Enterprise Emergency Medicine to meet or exceed hospital and MGB goals.
  • Representing SH within the MGB Emergency Medicine Enterprise Service Group (ESG) and advancing an MGB system approach to medicine.
  • Ensuring that the hospital continues to find new and innovative approaches to medical care that are evidence-based and reflect SH's commitment to providing the best possible care for the community it serves.
Requirements:
  • M.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Active Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Eligibility for permanent, unrestricted licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical leadership experience strongly preferred.
