Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the safety and security team to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and implement safety and security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and emergency response agencies to develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and training exercises.
  • Manage facilities maintenance, repair, and replacement, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets for safety and security operations, facilities maintenance, and emergency preparedness.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff and students on safety and security procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in safety and security, emergency preparedness, or facilities management.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to safety and security, including the Clery Act and Title IX.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to campus locations and occasional work in emergency situations. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, climb, and walk for extended periods.
