Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations

The Prevent Cancer Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to join its team. This key role will be responsible for leading the organization's corporate and foundation relations efforts, identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities, and stewarding existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate and foundation relations strategy to drive fundraising growth and sustainability.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate new corporate and foundation prospects, as well as maintain strong relationships with existing donors.
  • Design and implement proactive development plans to expand and enhance corporate and foundation giving, including corporate sponsorship for Foundation events and signature programs.
  • Write grant proposals and/or online grant submissions, and letters of intent to corporate and foundation prospects to secure funding for Foundation programs and special events.
  • Manage foundation and corporate giving, including grant writing and grant reporting, and ensure compliance with terms of grant and required reporting.
  • Oversee the application process and compliance with Charity Watchdog groups.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Foundation's research, educational, and community outreach programs to effectively relate the Foundation's mission and funding needs.
  • Supervise staff focused on corporate and foundation relations, currently one position.
  • Travel as needed, approximately 15-25% of the time.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years related experience in fundraising and grant writing.
  • Prior experience in the health care field preferred.
  • Strong background in building corporate relations and networking in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, familiarity with Raisers Edge a plus.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to relate to and motivate a diverse range of people, exercise cultural competence and inclusion, and accept direction and constructive feedback.
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work independently in the execution of his or her responsibilities while collaborating with other people and organizations, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a positive attitude.
Salary Range:

$105,000 - $120,000

Work Location:

This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office. Work must be performed in the DMV area.
