We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team at a heavy equipment company located in Nashville, Tennessee. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve issues with diesel engines and heavy equipment using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups, as well as repair or replace defective parts.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school degree or certification in diesel mechanics strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Skills: Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, and ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and ability to pass a drug test and background check.
