Academic Faculty Position in Industrial Engineering

The University of South Carolina is seeking a qualified candidate for a Tenure-Track Professor position in Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program in cutting-edge areas of industrial engineering, with a focus on operational research applied to engineering fields such as transportation engineering, healthcare, supply chain management, manufacturing, energy, environmental, systems design, or others.
Responsibilities- Teach and develop Industrial/General Engineering curriculum at the undergraduate level, including lecture, laboratory, or design courses.
- Develop and sustain an independent, nationally recognized research program in Industrial Engineering.
- Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and other researchers across colleges and institutions.
- Be engaged in professional activities.
Applicants for the Assistant Professor rank must possess a PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, or a closely related field by the start date of employment, a demonstrated record of research accomplishments, and an outstanding capacity for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Applicants for the ranks of Associate Professor and Full Professor must also have years of relevant academic experience commensurate with academic policy, plus a strong, sustained record of excellence in teaching and research, including competitive funding and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Preferred QualificationsSuccessful candidates will have a joint appointment with tenure home based on expertise and research focus. A successful track record of working with industry and startups or experience with ABET accreditation in industrial engineering area plus.
