Overview:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering routine nursing care in alignment with established protocols and under the guidance of nursing supervisors. The objective is to ensure the highest standard of resident care is consistently maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a nursing assistant training program or possession of a valid CNA license.
  • At least 6 months of experience as a CNA or relevant clinical experience during training.
  • A genuine commitment to serving the elderly and those in need.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, and staff.
  • Willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Good physical health and emotional resilience are required.
  • Capability to work with individuals who may be ill, disabled, or emotionally distressed.

Key Responsibilities:
General Duties:

  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with facility policies and nursing care standards.
  • Conduct resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours thereafter to ensure quality care.
  • Verify resident identification prior to administering care or serving meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident areas, including making beds and tidying bedside tables.
  • Provide drinking water and ensure it is accessible to residents.
  • Assist residents with dressing and personal grooming as needed.
  • Support residents during meal times, including transportation to and from dining areas.
  • Assist with feeding residents who require help.
  • Prepare residents for various activities, including therapy and medical appointments.
  • Ensure the comfort and hygiene of incontinent residents.
  • Respond promptly to residents' call lights.
  • Report any concerns or incidents to the supervising nurse.

Clinical Duties:

  • Maintain hand hygiene before and after resident care.
  • Position residents comfortably and appropriately.
  • Assist with oral care and hygiene for residents.
  • Document residents' food and fluid intake as directed.
  • Provide post-meal care, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.
  • Assist residents with bathroom needs and maintain cleanliness of equipment.
  • Monitor and document bowel movements as required.
  • Support residents with bathing and personal grooming.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions.

Consumer Service:

  • Present a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company standards for addressing resident concerns.
  • Ensure the protection of resident rights at all times.
