Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Behavior Interventionist to join our team at Hogan Preparatory Academy. The successful candidate will work closely with our scholars, teachers, and parents to reduce classroom exclusions and suspensions by building positive relationships and providing coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to classroom disruptions and provide consistent responses to scholars
  • Model and teach calming strategies to scholars
  • Practice de-escalation tactics to reintegrate scholars back into class quickly
  • Provide scholar tools to support alternative behaviors
  • Reinforce PLA's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBI) system
  • Provide behavior supports as determined by IEPs
  • Collaborate with Climate and Culture Specialists, teachers, and school leaders to support overall campus culture goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Computer knowledge
  • Experience working with children and ideally behavior issues a plus
