Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant Apprentice to join our team at CareNow. As a Medical Assistant Apprentice, you will provide clerical and clinical support to our healthcare team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate documentation of new and return visits to practice
  • Ensure timely return of medical records per provider's written direction and routing
  • Assist with the planning for patient appointments, including insurance coverage verification and medical record retrieval
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cross-training on all clerical operations, and provide coverage as needed for front- and back-office colleagues as assigned
  • In coordination with Practice Manager, maintain adequate level of supplies, and maintains patient areas as necessary to facilitate clean, smooth operations
  • Participate in practice-based Quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research activities
  • Accurately gather and process all necessary information and data regarding medical records, patient referral, billing and any medical treatment during the patient visit
  • Answers and places telephone calls as they relate to job duties and/or retrieve on-line messaging. Records, transmits, and assumes responsibility for relaying incoming telephone and email messages appropriately
  • Contributes to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments and revise appointments as needed
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all Physician Services policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement
Requirements
  • Enrolled in PSG Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program is required. One year prior work experience in is preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service and leadership skills, through high school organizational involvement and/or previous employment
  • Demonstrated basic office and computer skills
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, and E-Mail
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to work with Patient Populations
