Staff Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical customer liaison and support for business development activities
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of projects while providing technical guidance to clients and departments
  • Act as a point of technical escalation and resolution during a project's lifecycle
  • Leads in design reviews, test plans, and procedures to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements
  • Generates system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures
  • Reduces high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed requirements
  • Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development
  • Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in developing, designing, manufacturing, and testing production hardware
  • Well-rounded System Level approach with previous experience leading technical teams
  • Experience with space mechanism design and aerospace guidelines
  • Proficient in CAD and PDM Systems
  • Drafting knowledge with understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 along with tolerance analysis capabilities
  • Prior experience preparing and presenting project/program updates to all levels and customers
  • Experience in the Root Cause Analysis process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other space-related discipline
  • Experience with PDM Pro, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, Thermal Desktop, NASTRAN, or ANSYS
  • Ideal experience with the following Aerospace guidelines: GSFC-STD-7000A (GEVS), AIAA S, NASA-STD-5017, MMPDS, etc.
  • Experience with Graphite and Fiberglass composites, Photovoltaics, flexible circuits, and printed circuit board assemblies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and Teams
  • Training and Certification in the Lean Six Sigma process

Pay Range: $128,000 - $175,000

How We Determine What We Pay: Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
