Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor to lead our underground utilities crew on a construction site. As a Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing a crew as a working foreman and performing skilled work and related tasks as required. You may also operate a variety of heavy construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and Record Daily Production: Monitor and document the daily production of the crew and report back to the superintendent.
  • Manage Job-Related Paperwork: Input daily log books, time sheets, and other job-related paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Facilitate Meetings and Communication: Attend and facilitate coordination, production, and safety meetings with onsite subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.
  • Maintain Equipment and Tools: Ensure that job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.
  • Participate in Training and Development: Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety, and other skills.
  • Order and Schedule Deliveries: Order and schedule equipment and material deliveries as required.
  • Manage Onsite Work Crews: Manage, supervise, and coordinate onsite work crews to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion of work.
  • Maintain a Clean Job Site: Ensure that the job site is clean and free of hazards, with all tools and equipment picked up and secured each day.
  • Operate Construction Equipment: Operate construction equipment as required.
  • Ensure Safety and Incident Reporting: Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director, or HR Director as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Experience: Have knowledge of and experience reading, understanding, and implementing drawings.
  • Mathematical Skills: Possess good mathematical skills.
  • Laser and Transit Competency: Be competent with the use of a laser and transit.
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills: Have strong interpersonal communication skills to work with a variety of people at different levels.
  • Equipment and Material Knowledge: Have thorough knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work.
  • Adaptability: Be adaptable and able to work in a variety of conditions.
  • Safety Knowledge: Have thorough knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
  • Management Skills: Possess excellent management skills to manage, lead, and motivate employees.
  • Independence and Attendance: Be able to work independently and direct daily activities of the crew according to the work schedule, with dependability and consistency.
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Experience: Must have at least 2+ years of experience as an underground utility foreman.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; some college preferred.
  • CDL: Valid Class A or B CDL required.
  • OSHA Certifications: OSHA certifications are a plus (30 hr training, trench shoring, confined space, and first aid).
