The Nursing Assistant participates in the provision of nursing care by performing basic activities of patient care and related support services as delegated by the licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide basic nursing care, including vital sign measurements, wound care, and medication administration.
- Support patients with mobility and transfer needs, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- High school diploma required.
- Completion of state-approved course of study for Nursing Assistant training and/or documented completion of military equivalent, and/or successful completion of fundamentals semester of nursing school preferred.
- Satisfactory references from previous and/or current employers.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date.
The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work EnvironmentThe employee may be exposed to infectious specimens, diseases, and soiled laundry.
