The Registered Nurse 2 plays a crucial role in delivering patient-centered care, ensuring a culturally competent approach while adhering to evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service. This position involves overseeing nursing staff and allied health professionals in their daily responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of assigned patients and evaluate care plans, ensuring comprehensive documentation of nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and assess patient care strategies.
- Effectively communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members, ensuring adherence to all regulatory guidelines and best practices for patient transitions.
- Safely operate medical equipment and serve as a mentor to new staff, facilitating their integration into the healthcare environment.
- Comply with University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding institutional assets.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor's degree (BSN) is preferred.
- Oncology Certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology and nursing care methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety protocols, including sanitation and decontamination procedures.
