Job Summary

The Donation Attendant plays a vital role in maximizing store profitability by providing exceptional donor service, accurate donation records, and efficient material handling. This position is key to building skills and changing lives in our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process donations efficiently and accurately, ensuring a positive experience for donors.
  • Support the flow of merchandise to the sales floor by moving donations, trash, and salvage.
  • Anticipate and resolve issues, providing necessary assistance and supplies to the production team.
  • Price and place donations in the store, utilizing unit pricing and good/better/best pricing strategies.
  • Unload furniture from donor vehicles, price, and place directly into the store.
  • Interact with coworkers, shoppers, and donors in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Maintain accurate donation counts by handing receipts to donors and recording first and last receipts.
  • Operate non-powered and powered equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn safe operation of power equipment (for those over 18).
Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, use a full range of motion to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs, and operate material handling equipment.

Work outside in all weather conditions, including hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather.

Must be able to clearly communicate.
