MISSION STATEMENT:
Archdiocese of San Antonio is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes the teachings of Jesus Christ through our educational programs.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The role involves implementing a daily educational program aligned with the Archdiocese's values for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
PURPOSE:
To create a supportive environment that addresses each child's spiritual and cognitive development, encouraging them to become thoughtful, well-rounded individuals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PRIMARY TASKS:
- Welcome and integrate each child upon arrival.
- Foster a stimulating atmosphere that supports the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child.
- Engage with the interests and needs of the children.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
- Supervise children consistently.
- Assist the classroom teacher in curriculum implementation and preparation of materials.
- Accept rotating responsibilities as needed.
- Conduct safety checks on all equipment and toys.
- Support children with bathroom needs, including diapering and toilet training.
- Provide care for ill or injured children.
- Adhere to program policies and state licensing standards.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and appropriate interactions among children.
- Support classroom management.
- Take on responsibilities of the Assistant Teacher as required.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
- Participation in required continuing education workshops.
- Cleaning and sanitizing toys and surfaces according to established protocols.
- Ability to lift children weighing 30-40 lbs as necessary.
- Engagement in activities that involve standing, walking, and various physical movements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young children and adults.
- Provide a nurturing environment that fosters independence and individual talents.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Exhibit flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Enthusiastically support the mission of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Communicate effectively with the Director and staff.
- Engage with parents and children in the program.
- Collaborate with the Classroom Teacher.
