Job Summary

WR Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and expertise in the development of computer software systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical management assistance to a team of software engineers, consulting with clients to gather information about program needs, and independently formulating and designing software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical management assistance to a team of software engineers, including providing guidance on core technical competency areas.
  • Independently consult with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Consult with customers concerning the maintenance of software systems.
  • Independently formulate and design software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Analyze and estimate feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.
  • Develop and maintain plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs.
  • Research and evaluate software and hardware to support development or utilization within a system.
  • Train end users or technical support staff to use programs.
  • Coordinate installation of software systems.
  • May be responsible for evaluating performance of junior staff and/or subordinates.
  • May assist in the selection, training, and development of staff.
  • May lead and direct limited tasks assigned to junior personnel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/electronics engineering, computer/software engineering, computer science, math, physics, or related scientific discipline.
  • Ten years of professional experience in C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Python, and other object-oriented languages.
  • Demonstrate software development using one or more of these languages under Unix, Windows, Linux, and/or MS-DOS operating systems.
