About the Role

The Director of Development and Fundraising will play a pivotal role in securing philanthropic support for InsideHigherEd's initiatives. This individual will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, researching and identifying potential funding opportunities, and developing strategic plans to secure grants and donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet InsideHigherEd's goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including foundation officers, donors, and other partners.
  • Grant Research and Writing: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities and write compelling grant proposals to secure support.
  • Donor Stewardship: Develop and implement effective stewardship plans to cultivate and retain major donors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with InsideHigherEd's leadership team, development staff, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFRE Certification: Certified Fund Raising Executive certification preferred.
  • Grant Writing Experience: Experience with grant writing and research preferred.
  • Donor Software Experience: Experience with donor software, such as Raiser's Edge, preferred.
