Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Bridgers & Paxton. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of projects, including laboratories, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, educational institutions, and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement electrical design concepts for projects from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  • Stay current on codes and technologies relevant to the electrical discipline.
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
  • Organize and conduct site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials.
  • Develop and design within a BIM design environment.
  • Complete assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client-specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.
  • Review junior team members' work for quality and recognition of training opportunities.
  • Lead junior engineers in engineering design development and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the internal and external project team to execute the project from concept to completion.

Requirements:

  • Minimum four-year college degree from an accredited engineering program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm.
  • Professional Licensed Electrical Engineer is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently and perform detailed execution of electrical design.
  • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically with other engineers, clients, and code authorities.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong personal ambition and work ethic.
  • Strong working knowledge of various building, electrical, and energy conservation codes.
  • Strong working knowledge of the NFPA and other industry-related standards.
  • Strong personal ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced designer/engineers.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM PTW, and/or other design-related software.
