Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Assistant Armorer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Armorer in the maintenance, repair, and accountability of all weapons and selected equipment used by the Corps of Cadets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of firearms and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of weapons and equipment to identify any defects or issues.
  • Coordinate with assigned Army personnel to ensure compliance with U.S. Army regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and accountability of all weapons and equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Corps of Cadets members, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in arms maintenance, repair, or a related field.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift 10-pound rifles repeatedly.
  • Manual dexterity and hand strength to handle various weapons and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience or training in arms maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
