The role is accountable for overseeing and mentoring drivers within the Operating Company (OpCo), ensuring that deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and punctually. This includes assisting in the oversight of Department of Transportation (DOT) logs, guaranteeing compliance with all DOT and OpCo regulations, and managing the tracking of all pertinent driver information.

Key Responsibilities:Leads team members, which encompasses staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution. Aids in scheduling and ensures timely deliveries and pickups. Accompanies drivers for training and evaluation purposes.Supports the Transportation/Operations Manager in the daily administration of transportation and delivery operations, which may involve calculating driver payroll, reviewing trip logs and expense reports, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with DOT and OpCo regulations. Utilizes computer systems to input and retrieve data in an automated fleet management platform.Monitors driver safety by overseeing vehicle safety protocols, proper use of equipment, and adherence to safe lifting and handling practices. Participation in quarterly safety meetings may be required.Coordinates the tracking of essential driver information, including license status, traffic violations, accidents, and other safety-related data.Ensures the accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related documentation, including invoices, cash receipts, trip reports, fuel tickets, and DOT logs.Oversees the maintenance of all vehicles through a thorough review of post-trip inspections.Collaborates with the Transportation or Operations Manager to reduce operational costs and ensure efficient routing of deliveries.Performs additional related tasks as assigned, including covering routes when necessary.
