The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the highest level of sterility and quality in the processing of medical instruments and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Clean, package, sterilize, and store medical supplies, instruments, and equipment
Maintain accurate records of inventory and sterilization processes
Collaborate with the OR change nurse to transport instruments and ensure timely preparation for cases
Adhere to sterilization process policies and procedures, including inspection of instruments and proper labeling
Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other equipment for processing items

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) certification within 6 months of hire
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
