The Field Construction Manager will supervise the designated project inspection personnel and collaborate with service consultants to guarantee that the project adheres to the established plans, specifications, contractual obligations, and client expectations. This position serves as the primary liaison for field progress among the owner, contractor, engineer of record, and regulatory representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all construction meetings to support the Construction Manager.
- Organize and lead weekly progress discussions.
- Examine plans, specifications, and shop drawings to identify and address potential contractor issues.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the Construction Manager.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure adherence.
- Assess contractor's detailed cost proposals and formulate preliminary cost estimates.
- Conduct daily reviews of project documentation, including inspections, reports, photographs, and material deliveries.
- Ensure the maintenance of accurate field records, such as daily reports, test results, and as-built drawings.
- Prepare trend reports for issues affecting construction progress or potential change management challenges.
- Identify risks or claims arising from contractor activities.
- Act as the primary project representative within the community where construction is taking place, ensuring contractor activities align with community needs.
- Assist the Construction Manager in implementing the company's safety program, adhering to safe work practices and company policies to ensure personal and team safety.
- Engage in local industry networking events.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience, skills, and training may be considered.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in inspection, construction, or operations, with a solid understanding of quality control programs and regulatory agency activities.
- Prior involvement in municipal water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and tunnels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, technology, equipment, methods, labor agreements, and negotiations.
- Strong grasp of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards and their implications for project activities.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and planning abilities.
- Understanding of business practices and project profit/loss management.
- Familiarity with data management software.
- CCM or PMP certification is preferred; however, candidates willing to obtain these certifications within 18 months will be considered.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is advantageous.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience.
