About the Role

The Manager, Veterinary Services (Operations and Client Engagement) plays a key role in maintaining the highest level of excellence in medical processes and welfare for shelter animals and the community.

This is a highly collaborative role with Veterinary Services and members of various departments within the organization to accomplish HSSV objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop best practices within the department to align with organizational goals and manage day-to-day business functions and Medical Center upkeep.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain medical equipment and supplies, depreciation, help identify and resolve issues, and provide technical assistance and direction when applicable.
  • Review and/or prepare all accounts payable and receivables to confirm that each is handled correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Drive, in collaboration with Finance, monthly inventory reconciliation process.
  • Regularly review inventory levels, fee schedule for services, products, and increase or change as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining inventory management processes.
  • Ensure accurate and fiscally responsible management of purchasing and medical supplies inventory, including periodic review of optimal costing.
  • Responsible for working with partner specialty and after-hour emergency clinics and reference laboratory services to reconcile monthly billings.
  • Maintain controlled drug inventory and logs/records as required by law.
  • Ensure medical software systems are fully utilized and drive department efficiencies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory compliance agencies.
  • Create and update veterinary services department processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Promote transparency in communication and information flow across the organization.
  • Handle client communications, medical triage, and client education; ensure coverage for weekend days.
Requirements
  • Experience with program management in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer knowledge with proven proficiency in a Windows environment.
  • Excels in working with various databases, analyzing data, and creating reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of business principles and business management.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, which includes conflict resolution.
  • Successful change management experience.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $90,000-$110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
