The Passenger Wheelchair Agent is a critical member of our team at United Service Companies, responsible for providing exceptional customer service to passengers with special needs. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and Transport Passengers: Safely escort passengers requiring wheelchair assistance to and from their assigned gate, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience.
- Provide Personalized Support: Offer assistance with lifting special needs passengers up and down stairs of aircraft and in and out of wheelchairs, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Escort Unaccompanied Minors: Timely and securely escort unaccompanied minors to and from flights, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Read and Verify Information: Accurately read and verify paperwork to identify passenger information, flight details, and special service requests, ensuring accurate delivery to the correct destination.
- Assist with Baggage and Belongings: Assist special needs passengers and unaccompanied minors with transporting and claiming personal belongings and baggage, providing a seamless travel experience.
- Monitor Airport Information: Regularly read airport monitors to determine arrival and departure information, arranging gates for incoming passengers who require special assistance.
- Provide Friendly and Courteous Service: Greet and escort passengers in a friendly and courteous manner, setting the tone for a positive travel experience.
- Wheelchair Management: Gather wheelchairs in the concourse and return them to the staging area for use, ensuring efficient wheelchair management.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum one-year experience in ramp service or a related field, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and Time Management: Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Weather and Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Background Screening: Must be able to successfully complete the Department of Aviation background screening process.
